Its a sad day, a well known voice of childrens television dies aged 79. Roy Skelton, who gave his voice to 2 much loved puppets from the childrens television program Rainbow passed away after suffering from a stroke. Mr Skelton, from Oldham, Manchester, launched his career as an actor at the Bristol Old Vic, he then moved into television and is best known for providing the voiceover for Zippy and George in the childrens television program Rainbow. He also worked on other childrens shows Toytown and Picture Book, but Rainbow is the most well known.
